Korea Fire Service Introduction
  • Korea Fire Service overviews : Safety-related tasks such as fire, rescues and emergencies.
    • The organization consists of the National Fire Agency’s main office in Sejong City and two affiliated institutions, the National Fire Service Academy and the National 119 Rescue Headquarters, as well as 18 city fire services and 215 fire stations, 1,029 Safety Centers, 238 rescue teams, 1,038 emergency medical service, 17 Flying Cops, and 8 Firefighting Corps.
    • A total of 50,170 people work for the Service year-round under an around-the-clock service system, including 21,693 workers for the suppression crew(45.7%), 4,676 rescue personnel (9.3%), and 10,313 paramedics (20.6%).

When a Fire Occurs
  • ① If the fire alarm sounds, call out “Fire” to wake everyone up, call 119 and then evacuate.

  • ② Cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel and walk out against the walls.

  • ③ Do not use the elevator. Evacuate using the stairs.

  • ④ If the fire is small, extinguish at its beginning using a fire extinguisher.

  • ⑤ If you cannot evacuate your house, block the holes with a wet towel or duct tape.

  • ⑥ Use the descending life line to evacuate the house.

Facing a patient in a state of emergency
  • ① Report patient to 119.

  • ② Perform CPR if the patient is not breathing and has no pulse.

  • ③ Contunue CPR until rescue efforts arrive.

Facing Everyday Risks
  • ① Please report any safety threats such as beehives around your house.

  • ② Please report any safety threats caused by dangerous dogs, wild boars, snakes, ets.

  • ③ Please request that we open doors if you suspect a fire, suicide, etc.

  • ④ Please report for safety measures in relation to strong winds or icicle removal, and other expected life threats.

  • ⑤ Please report any expected life threats such as caught in / between accidents, and firefighting facility malfunctions or damage.

  • ② Attach the decending life line’s hook to the support fixture

  • ③ Throw the reel out of the window

  • ④ Fasten and adjust the belt around your chest

  • ⑤ Descend facing the wall
